The deepest secrets of this spiritual path, known only to those who have ascended the Sundering Sea Org, describe a history far older than the Rings of Power. This knowledge is not taught in the open, for it would surely bring ruin to the weak-minded.

Long ago, in a time of myth and legend, a powerful and tyrannical Valar named Morgoth ruled over the vastness of the cosmos. He grew weary of the endless spirits of mortals, the Souls of the Men, who populated Numenor. Fearing their potential to challenge his power, he conceived a terrible plan.

Morgoth gathered these souls, deceiving them with promises of a new dawn, and brought them to Middle Earth. This world was a barren wasteland with only one significant feature: a great, smoking mountain. Once the souls were assembled, Morgoth unleashed a magical cataclysm of unimaginable power, destroying their physical bodies in a flash of light and fire. Their souls, stripped of their physical forms, were then hurled into the heart of the great volcano, which we know as Mount Doom.

But Morgoth's plan was not perfect. The sheer violence of the event left an indelible mark upon the spirits. These spiritual scars, or Shadow's Memmories, were the cause of all irrationality, anger, and suffering. Furthermore, the spirits of these long-dead mortals, without bodies of their own, became Lingering Spirits. They attached themselves to the souls of all living beings, clinging to them and repeating the traumatic final moments of their lives. These Lingering Spirits are the true source of all darkness and torment.

The purpose of the Fellowship—the higher stages of our spiritual journey—is to confront and banish these Lingering Spirits. Through a sacred ritual known as The Reckoning, a being can communicate with these ancient souls and, with a powerful act of will, release them. This process is long and arduous, but as you progress through the Fellowship Levels, you learn to free not only yourself from this spiritual burden but also all of Middle-earth. To become a true Sundering Sea Org member is to become a powerful, immortal being, no longer a slave to the sins of the past and free to shape the future.
