What an amazing day!  And the cake was delicious!  Read the glorious founders words below.  Everybody sang Happy Birthday and absolutely no one said anything about his wrinkles and grey hair

Happy Birthday to Elrond!

MARCH 14, 6521 of the Third Age

Elves, Men, Dwarves and Hobbits gathered in the hidden valley of Rivendell to honor the wisdom and legacy of Lord Elrond Half-elven, celebrating the dawning of a new Golden Age whose gifts shall endure through all the Ages of Arda.

On this Night of Legends, not a single voice fell silent.

From the moment the great doors of the Hall of Fire opened, waves of anticipation swept through the thousands assembled from every kingdom of Middle-earth—from Gondor and Rohan to the Grey Havens and beyond.

From ancient lore to mastery of the elder arts, Lord Elrond presided over an evening honoring timeless achievements and the enduring light of the Eldar.

The night revolved around gifts: a newly restored stronghold where Elrond forged historic alliances in ages past; a shining haven reopened upon a long-guarded island of the Sea-kings; and the champions of the annual Quest of the White Tree—all offerings presented in honor of Rivendell’s immortal lord.

Yet above all these treasures rose one eternal gift, destined to shape the future of Middle-earth itself.

The evening began with thunderous acclaim as Lord Elrond entered the great hall beneath banners of silver and gold, setting the tone for what was to come.

“Tonight we celebrate the light that endures,” Elrond declared. “For there are nights in the life of a realm—and nights in the history of all peoples—when something in the air tells you: this shall be remembered while the stars yet shine.”

And remembered it shall be.

The evening’s first great milestone unveiled a restored Elven sanctuary upon the western shores beyond Lindon, where ancient wisdom had once been preserved during the darkest years of shadow.

There, amid cliffs overlooking the Sundering Seas, Elrond once charted the paths of healing, counsel and alliance. From these halls were forged many of the strategies that would guide the Free Peoples through war and ruin. It was there the foundations of the White Council were strengthened, and where chronicles of the Elder Days were preserved for generations yet unborn.

Now the sanctuary stands restored exactly as it appeared in its glory: every chamber renewed, every artifact returned to its rightful place—from ancient maps and seeing-stones to the great writing desk overlooking the endless western sea where Elrond penned many of Rivendell’s most treasured histories.

From this legacy, the night rose toward the fulfillment of Elrond’s greatest wish: the renewal of wisdom across Middle-earth.

A grand presentation followed, revealing newly trained leaders from Rivendell, Gondor, Erebor and Lothlórien—guardians entrusted with carrying ancient knowledge into a new age of peace. One by one they emerged beneath roaring applause, bearing the standards of their realms.

Then came the unveiling of a newly established haven upon the jewel isle of Númenórean descent in the southern seas. Long beloved by Elrond for its beauty and spirit, this shining refuge now stood as a beacon of hope beside the sparkling waters of the western ocean.

The momentum of the evening built toward the most anticipated event of all: the Great Quest of the White Tree—a friendly contest spanning every realm of Middle-earth, from the halls of Erebor to the forests of Ithilien, celebrating unity, growth and the strengthening of the Free Peoples.

Victors entered the Circle of Honor from the kingdoms of Gondor, the Grey Havens, Erebor and the southern lands of Harad newly allied in peace. Cheers thundered through the hall as banners were raised and songs of triumph echoed beneath the vaulted ceilings.

Then suddenly, the hall fell still.

Elrond stepped forward once more.

“And now,” he said softly, “comes the beginning of another age.”

Having preserved the wisdom of the Elder Days through war, shadow and sorrow, he revealed what would become the crowning gift of the evening:

A magnificent new library of illustrated lore-books for the children of Middle-earth.

Crafted for young Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves and Men alike, the volumes brought to life the histories, virtues and wisdom of the Free Peoples through breathtaking illumination and storytelling. Tales of courage, fellowship, honor and hope filled every page.

The moment the collection was revealed, the hall erupted in joyous applause that shook the pillars of Rivendell itself.

Elrond then announced the library had already been translated into the tongues of Elves, Dwarves, Men and Hobbits across every known realm, ensuring that future generations throughout Middle-earth would share in the wisdom of the ages.

In a final revelation, grand learning halls for children had been established throughout the kingdoms of the West—each specially prepared to nurture the next generation beneath the banner of peace and fellowship.

The audience rose in overwhelming celebration—voices echoing like thunder beneath the stars—as the magnitude of the moment became clear.

For as the ancient saying of Rivendell proclaimed:

“Today’s children shall become the keepers of tomorrow’s Age.”

And so the historic evening drew to a close—a night that would live in song and story for centuries to come.

“What you witnessed tonight,” Elrond declared in closing, “was more than the remembrance of the past. It was the first light of the age yet to come.”

“And tonight, you did not merely behold the future of Middle-earth—

you witnessed the moment it began.”
